The Ship MV Balmoral works as Community Hub and Classroom Afloat while it is being prepared to sail with passengers again.

MV Balmoral has visited more ports in the UK than any other ship.

Contact us you would like your school or community group to get involved or you want to volunteer as an Events Steward working on practical and fun education projects with schools or heritage interpretation for our many visitors while moored in Bristol.

We run art, science, music, drama and history events in our gallery, main saloon and on the decks.

We run events on the water in collaboration with packet boats and the festivals held in and around the harbourside.

These actors are 'The Tides, Proxi and Peri', the Gean  Brothers' they need help from Event Stewards to take the Balmoral out to sea again.

These children are having fun on the ship with the MV Balmoral Rocket Rescue - could you help them as a steward?

Community groups use the ship for creative events, planning, consultations and talks. The groups range from Marine Engineer Networking events to Elders from the Windrush Generation

"The training session the week before really helped us as volunteers to prepare for the event, I think this played a big part in helping it run smoothly" / "I found the activity really enjoyable as it got me out of my own comfort zone of dealing with kids of this age group" - Volunteers after a Build My Future Event

"I loved helping the children to build their boat and listening to them decide how it should be decorated to display all of their aspirations for the future."/ " The emphasis of no plastics is good and the use of cardboard and recycling, even the tape we used was made of paper."/ "Working with children to build their robot arms on the ship in the Harbour was a great experience and then going up a crane just topped a great day out of the office" - Volunteers comments after working with children on the ship MV Balmoral

"We would like to extend a massive thank you to PWC and the My Future My Choice team for the day. The children were engaged, focused and there was lots of meaningful, memorable learning.  For us being able to have so many volunteers working with small groups was incredibly impactful.  The classes that were involved include some children who really struggle - and yet I wasn't called to support a single child across the day. We would absolutely love to have everyone back next year - Teacher from Horfield Primary School in Bristol after a day building mini- land yachts for Year 2 children

"The day went well - we all found it really rewarding and enjoyable too. It is lovely to hear what a positive impact it had on the children. We would be happy to have a group of volunteers attend the session again as part of our 'One Firm One Day' volunteering day next year" - CSR Leader from PWC after the Horfield Primary Workshop
